With decades of compassionate service, Bulgarian Child, Inc. has helped vulnerable children, young adults and families find practical support, dignity and hope for a safer future.
Honoring a legacy with
a future of hope.
For many years, Bulgarian Child, Inc. worked with children in orphanages, young adults aging out of institutional care, people with disabilities, families in poverty and communities with limited access to resources.
One of Bulgarian Child Inc.’s most meaningful efforts was The Learning Center located in Borovtsi, Bulgaria — a residential training center created to help young men transition out of institutional care and prepare for independent life. At the center, residents received safe housing, vocational training, life-skills education.
Today, that mission continues through a new chapter.
The former Learning Center is now THE REFUGE, a place providing practical care and support for underprivileged communities in Bulgaria and many of the Ukrainian refugees displaced by war. Through partnership with Share Syndicate and Michael Gott International, THE REFUGE carries forward Bulgarian Child Inc.’s legacy while expanding its reach to the ever-growing urgent needs of today.

A summer camp where Ukrainian youth can rediscover joy, connection and hope.
CAMP REFUGE offers days filled with art, games, music, outdoor activities, healthy meals, friendship and the gentle healing support that every child needs in a safe and caring environment.
